silk & satin fabric art installation blowing in the wind

Wind Cloud Sky

This installation had a difficult birth. As artist/midwife, I’m worn out but soooooooo exhilarated!

And so very grateful to the gods for the window of clear skies. I was able to shoot this bit of video this afternoon before we take off in the morning for a 10-day visit to the Southwest. I won’t get back to town until just a day before Artwalk. Karen will display an installation of poetry and photography in the Artist Studio in full view of Wind Cloud Sky, just below the deck.

(Wish I’d had the time to press the wrinkles out of the silks for the video, although I’m guessing the weather will erase them in a few days. I’m learning not to be so fussy.)
