EROSION’S LYRICAL LINEARITY

Cracks in sidewalks — ongoing theme. Strange, lyrical. Topographic maps of erosion, time. They never fail to catch my eye wherever I happen to be. I captured this batch with my iPad mini outside Auntie’s Bookstore in Spokane, WA.  Thinking about similarities between flow lines of erosion and flow lines of water. There’s a part of me that longs to use these images as springboards for charcoal studies. Or prints. Or better yet, painting with asphaltum.
